I put a couple thousand miles on last season with my PCV and I wasn't impressed. Maybe I don't have the best table for my mods, but other than a few extra MPH on the top end I can't hardly notice a difference.
I sold my Sportster last year and bought an '8 too. I miss the V-twin rumble, but not turn signals rattling off, pegs dragging, and BARELY being able to hit triple digit speeds. Congratulations on the upgrade, you'll enjoy it :tup
I bought a cheap cover on ebay. One hook that goes under the bottom by the pipes. I only put it on when I expect bad weather. I ride it in the rain, so sitting in it can't be much worse. Remember to keep that chain lubed after rain/snow!
