Oil leak ?

After work I noticed a oil leak next to the bike. Checked the oil levels and areas couldn't find anything wrong. I rode it home and parked it in my garage and I don't see anything.

The oil was def fresh but maybe it wasn't mine ?

Any advise?

Are you sure it isn't fuel? Was the bike in the sun? Could be a bit of fuel. This is normal.

It was oil, I smelled it...I check my a garage again no leak. Maybe it was someone else, very weird

i seriously think so..I check my garage this am, and nothing...If there was something, I would've seen it!!

Wish I had a video camera on the bike..

Oh well.

I can't see the picture in great detail but maybe it could have been chain lube?

When its hot out and or you have a full tank of gas or you are in direct heat/sun, the heat/sun expands the vapors/gas in your tank. That is what the hose is there for. Allows it to escape.

It hits the ground, evaporates and what is left is what you see.

You dont see it in your garage because your tank is not in direct sunlight/heat. Most mistake it for oil.

Unless this was not under the tank vent hoses.... Then it could just be from someone elses car/bike or you parked over a spot you left from last time. My FZ-09 and every other bike does the same thing. I have a bunch of spots at work from evaporated gas spots.

I cannot remember which side the bike on the 8, the gas evap/overflow is.
