6th gear

Hello FZ8 friends! I have noticed that the fz8 should have 6 gears correct? I haven't paid to much attention or count how many gears I am shifting through..but! I believe I am stopping at 5th and I have tried to shift to 6th and it will not go any further. Does anyone else have this issue? I'll probably need to jump on it when I get home and count...

Its 1 down 5 up = 6

So starting in first, you will have 5 up shifts.

there might be an issue because I am only experiencing 1 down and 4 up...

Hi Lastantihero,

If you're new to the FZ8, it's quite easy to shift up quickly and go 'through' 2nd gear without knowing it. Go and have a ride round the block, shift up slowly from 1st (hesitate slightly at the Neutral light) and make sure you hit 2nd. The other 4 will be in there somewhere! (**,)

Awesome! Thanks guys, my issue was that I wasn't counting my shifts at all, I just shifted as I went and downshifted as needed. I know it sounds a bit weird. Anyways, thank you so much for the input and tips! FZ8 family is great so far!
