yamaha engine guard question

I bought the yamaha brand engine guard and installed it. but there's about a ⅛" gap where the two sides connect. is that normal?

Yes that's normal. It gets a little closer with time. So just keep making sure everything is tight every couple of rides. Use plenty of LocTite

Yup, had the same issue with mine. I managed to push mine closer together but it shouldn't be of concern.

cool. I did put a bountiful feast (for a bolt) of locktite

Yeah, that's normal, but annoying. I hit it with a rubber mallet a few times, seems to have helped.
