Hi, from what I've read the FZ8 has the same frame as the current FZ1. Woodcraft doesn't make frame sliders for the FZ8, but should a set for a FZ1 bolt on nicely?

almost all frame sliders are exchangable from fz8 to fz1 and vice versa.
Both bikes have the same frame.

I highly recommend woodcraft, one lowside right side i was able to ride home from country roads, yesterday some dude turned left from a center lane and i tested the left slider. It saved quite a bit, axel sliders would have saved more . Will post pics when claim is finished. On another not the stator cover & oil pump cover for the fz1 are on the way , I spoke with waylon at WC while matching the part # from microfiche, so if my bike makes it i will install and post pics. Really great customer service from them at woodcraft, personalized help to figure out how to protect your bike. Also they suggest shipping to your local shop to save on shipping.
