Goo gone, your best friend!
The very first thing I did when I got my bike was remove all those ugly reflectors and got out the goo gone for the factory stickers. Works like a champ and you can get it at any store. Still debating on removing the fz8 slogan on tank for a more custom look. As for washing, same as you would your car, I personally don't ride if it even looks like it might rain so keeping it clean is easy.
