I have them on order for my bike; looking forward to their arrival (any day now). Getting them from the dealer matched to the bike - blue color. I was considering adding some clear protective tape to the leading edge for rocks, etc. Do you think that will help?

The 3m invisible protective shields (like for cars) hold up REALLY well to scratches and things. maybe pick up a bit of that to wrap and you should be fine!
