Newbie riding question

Everything that is associated with riding a bike is new to me so thank you in advance for all and any replies. I noticed during my long trek home from the dealer, that I could not see directly behind me. If someone was tailgating me, I wouldn't even know it. I'm so used to driving a car...how do you experienced riders know what's right behind you?

Your two side mirrors should be able to provide adequate rear view. Cars are large enough that if one mirror does not show part of the car behind, the other will. I'm only fearful of other rider. Sometime i get rider who like to ride single file behind me. Those are the one you can't see.

Edit: forgot to mention, get mirror extender so your forearm won't cover half of it.

You will have to tilt your shoulders a bit to see directly behind you. The mirrors in stock form faults in that aspect but when you get used to tilting your shoulder, its second nature lol
