Yip, a few pieces of round stock welded together for $200. The cheapest one I found was the Yamaha one, the aftermarket ones seem to be even more.

i got mine for $148, luckily i guess, because cheapcycleparts had it for that price and it went up since last week. i told my local dealer i would buy it from them if they matched price, they agreed so i paid cash for it there and they ordered it.
There are brackets on each side that you attach as well as the stand.
I took the stand off because i did not like the look. when i need to work on the shock i can just attach it to the brackets with two bolts in a couple of secs.

bought mine used for $100. I use it every day. Bike takes up less room in the garage when it's not leaning
