What did you do to your bike today?

MRA V-flow windshield

I installed the MRA V-flow windshield. Then I rode from Hartford CT to Long Island (uniondale) NY. Thats about 2hr 40mins.
Overall I really liked the windscreen, more than I thought I would have. It was a struggle to ride at 70+. Anything above 75 mph was like your head became a bobble head which was ok at first because thats why i bought a naked bike; to reduce my need for speed, which it did. But lately Ive been going on long trips (going to NY anb back over a weekend, 2hrs(3 hrs/ heavy traffic) with no breaks and, i just get so exhausted after a ride like that, I realized that it was the wind that used to knock the wind out of me on those long trips.
But now with the windshield I can cruise around 75-80 mph, maybe even 85 if I want to tuck in for a few minutes:cool: I still feel tired after that but not as much as i used to.
The great thing about the windshield was that its so easy to remove. the mounting kit is just a few bolts and boom back to naked. So for now im just going to throw it if im going to be on the highway for 1hr +, but if im on the backroad, i wont use it.
** I will make a video tutorial for this mra windshield because theres no vids for the windshield for this bike. I will have it on the mods section either this week or next week...cheers

No pics for what I did but today was finally the day I did something about the front forks. Installed a set of 1kg racetech springs along with some 7.5w fork oil. Huge difference like so many have mentioned before

I added the official rear carrier from Europe after the dealer near my house told me they were gonna charge me $250 to cut some plastic and tighten some bolts.13918779_10208801111818166_800673360_o.jpg13978045_10208801426706038_582890485_o.jpg13978318_10208801290302628_398057325_o.jpg13978358_10208801268862092_1361923334_o.jpg13987230_10208801442706438_877747883_o.jpg14002362_10208801426266027_555978638_o.jpg13987848_10208801792155174_469884964_o.jpg

Tried to install Racetech fork springs, but wasn't able to compress them enough to get everything put back together. Going to be taking them to a shop tomorrow and have it done right.

With the unusually warm weather and no rain, I was able to take the FZ out for a few hours this weekend, followed by a clean-up. Ditto for the FJ. After nearly a month of not being able to ride either because of business or weather, these precious hours on the roads were just what my weary soul needed.

In SE Wisconsin. :)

Got the Rizoma Reverse Retro bar end mirrors on a few weeks ago. Didn't want to drill out the OEM bar internals for the adapters so I ended up flipping the gold rizoma bar end caps around and using those as an attachment point for the mirrors. All I needed was a bar end bolt that was around 1/2" longer. Need to take them back off at some point and grind a little bit of the white sleeve down as you can see it sticking out a bit in the 3rd pic. EDIT: Also picked up a Nelson Rigg CL1060S tail bag. The Ogio I had previously was starting to really get that purple-sun fade going on.

Today, I installed the R6 throttle tube, and at the same time put new Progrip 699 grips on. I used grip-lock glue. I have no idea what the factory uses, but the R6 grip already on the tube when you order it was on their nice and solid (as are all grips from factory), but with a little work and a skinny screwdriver it came off easily with zero glue, or any kind of adhesive residue. Mind blown. lol.

I also cleaned out the gunk build up under the front-sprocket cover. I'm waiting for weather to run through a tank of gas before I replace air filter with an empty tank.

My new FP Racing levers should be in by week's end, and I ordered up Battlax S21 tires. I'm looking forward to this riding season!!!

Rode in to work this morning, a brisk 41* F. it should be 70 this afternoon though. After I parked I sat and stared at my bike for about 5 minutes, man it is beautiful.

After a long day of work I took the FZ8 out for a short ride down to our local lake, followed by a few miles of twisty back road and another few miles of wide open highway. Though only a 45 minute ride, it definitely was good for the soul.
