Took Apart My XV250

I noticed the engine started leaking oil and had a bit of an exhaust leak by the head, so I bought all new gaskets for pretty much the entire engine, haha.

Taking it apart was easier than I anticipated. Hopefully I don't mess up the timing chain when I put it back together. :p

I must admit, I bit off more than I cared to chew, but I can't stand oil or exhaust leaks... So, it had to be done, especially if I decide to sell it. I wouldn't want the next owner to feel jipped.

Also replacing the chain and rear sprocket.

Speaking of the rear sprocket, I need to show you fellas a picture. I hope no one buys the rear JT sprockets... After I show you guys a picture of my JT sprocket with only 3500 miles of use, you guys will be shocked. Hopefully, I'll remember to take a picture when I get home.

Thanks, I may need some on the reassembly. :p

Well, I have yet to take a picture of the sprocket, but when I do, I'll be sure to post in the product review section.

Engine is all clean, and the acetone I used to clean it with should be evaporated by now. Time to lube and reassemble. Completely forgot to order two head gaskets, so I'll have this thing running like brand new by this Friday. :D Still need to research and figure out how to set the timing. :\

Just super. Engine is all back together. No leaks at all. New chain and rear sprocket. Runs great.

Bad news?? I can't get it shift to 2nd and up! :(

The factory service manual can only assist so much. Hopefully I can get everything squared away before the new year.
