Good Morning,

I have a 2012 FZ8 with 15,000 Miles. All stock no mods. Battery fully charged.

Started it up and a CODE # 47 was displayed and the Amber Engine Light stayed Lit while the bike was running.

Took it for a test ride and the bike was sputtering and did not run correctly as usual.

Put the bike in diagnostic mode (DI) scrolled through all the codes here is what I recorded:

D: 01 - 17

D: 02 - 99

D: 03 - 99

D: 05 - 72

D: 06 - 77

D: 61 - 30 - 46 - 70
D: 62 - 1
D: 63 - 00
D: 70 - 0

When starting the bike the Throttle body Servo was making odd sounds and not the normal smooth sound as usual.

Any ideas what to look for?

Thanks for your help.

Sounds like one (or multiple) of your throttle bodies are junk, failing to do its self check correctly when you turn the key on

Code 47: Sub-throttle position sensor: open or short circuit detected. (no normal signals are received from the sub-throttle position sensor.)

Possible failures - Continuity of wire harness, Open or short circuit, Sub-throttle position sensor failing, ECU malfunction.

These are tied to the Fuel injection system so that would explain it running like crap.

https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1193203/Yamaha-Fz8na.html?page=494#manual - From the Manual on Code 47.

Hope this helps!

Turns out it was frayed green wire at the the connection because of hangry mice. Spliced / heat shrinked the connection and now back in business.
Thanks for your assistance Ride Safe

Thanks for posting that its resolved...

Where exactly was the frayed green wire connection? (so we can check there first if this happens..)

There are 3 wires that connect to the sub-throttle position sensor. The frayed green/yellow wire was the problem.
Hope this helps.
