Yes sorry you have to remove the airbox and velocity stacks to access it. There is a black rubber piece too you will need to remove the zip ties for to get it out.
Under the tank just behind the headset. 2 plugs unplug from it and it slides back towards the seat on a little bit of an angle. Little bigger than a wallet.
I agree with Bagman. I have a Yosh R77-D slip-on and a K&N. I had TurboJoe flash the ECU and love it. Only had a short ride in 30 degree temps but can feel the difference. Either flash will make it a new bike IMO. Enjoy!
You can avoid all the AIS block off stuff and maps by just contacting Turbo Joe in California. He is on FB. $200 plus shipping and he flashes the ECU. Turn off AIS, Raise rev limiter, Take off the top speed limiter, Lower rad fan temp, and new ignition and fuel through out the rpms. Love it. 1...

I had a 2005 VTX1300C. Was a great bike and would definitely recommend one but I do a lot of 1 up riding and appreciate some lean in my corners. My wife has her own bike so 2 up is not really needed. If I could have both that would be the perfect scenario. :D
