Almost dropped my bike...

Very close call this morning...

I got home, parked my bike on a SLIGHT downhill slope, and put the kickstand down all the way. At least I thought I put it down all the way. Perhaps I was just so tired after a 14 hr shift and a 1 hour FREEZING commute home that I didn't engage it all the way....

Got off the bike, and immediately turned my attention to a car coming down the road thinking...why is anybody up at this early on a Sunday, and all of a suddden, felt the weight of the bike falling into me. Luckily, due to my immense fatness and weight, my left love handle and lower left man boob absorbed most of the fall, and I was able to catch it and straighten it up.

Anyway, I'm glad I got off my bike and stood next to it for that couple of seconds instead of getting off and heading right in like I usually do. I would have been SORELY pissed!

Thank you, random car, for making my A.D.D. go off in your direction so I couldn't think or function to walk into the house just yet!

hey I thought I saw you today, but it was someone else on a FZ8. My first FZ8 sighting.

noob- I'm always on 355...that's where you'll likely, if not see me, hear me lol. the double gun is ridiculous!

good save...btw, where is the lower left man boob, as opposed to the left man boob?

ah, great question, I understand the confusion...I should've said, lowest* left man boob...in reference to the many folds of fat underneath my left breast.

At least nobody saw you. I've done that, my last bike in the parking lot at work in front of a group of fellow bikers. completely flustered after a short night and a crazy traffic. I couldn't save it she came down right on top of me  luckily the only damage was the tip of the clutch lever snapped off, my body saved the rest of the bike. Unfortunately the guys at work will never let me forget about it

Cool! I haven't had an FZ8 sighting yet. I can't be the only one with a FZ8 in the Houston area with an FZ8... can I?

That suck Cambo. I was in DC today near the washington monument area, was a great day to ride around. Was packed with people and no parking. But not a problem for a bike. There're alway parking for bikes. Didn't stay long though. Suck to be walking around by yourself. Maybe we all could meet up in DC one day. FZ8 fan club.

ah, bummer man! good to hear there wasn't too much damage though. Same deal? kick stand not down all the way?

dude, that would've been awesome to hit up DC today, wish I wasn't working. Finally a perfect riding day today too. I can only imagine how packed it was with the cherry blossoms finally out and all. I PM'd you my number, hit me up whenever you're heading out next!

Random question but you don't play vball do you? There's some sand courts down there that get some activity. Would be a good excuse to ride into DC.

I was joking on another forum about falling of my MX bikes in the pits and very nearly did the same thing on my FZ yesterday. Pulled up at a country servo with a rough surface and put my foot in a hole. Nearly burst a pooper valve holding it up! Sucks being short.

I made the motion with my foot but completely missed the kick stand

Lmao, that was too funny! The day I got my bike, I sat on it in my garage and leaned to feel the weight difference in the new bike, and my foot gave out from the dirty floor and kept slipping and I finally pulled it back up in time. Scariest moment on the bike so far!

I've also done the infamous kickstand on a hill. Didn't fully extend but I swore it did. She sat for a split second and starter to go when I was getting off. Had my foot trapped underneath but got her back up. Small small unnoticeable piece under the left wing of the gastank got a small scratch but not noticeable unless you're looking upside down lol.

I have a ritual for my kickstand now. I wipe the ground where it's gonna be with my foot 4 times to clear debris and knock on my kickstand when it's extended out 4 quick times to make sure it's solid. OCD much? Shes worth it :)

dude, this lesson must invoke the same sort of OCD behavior. Since this happened, every time I've put my kick stand down, I've kicked it couple more times just to make sure it's good to go. lmao!

Glad the damage isn't noticeable!

haha, one of my worse fears is related to this:

Sitting in traffic at a traffic light. If I know it's going to be long, I knock it into neutral (after seeing the car behind me come to a stop of course), and relax with right foot up on the peg and my left foot on the ground, supporting ALL the weight since it's slightly leaned. (I can't relax with both feet on the ground, I feel like I'm giving myself a wedgie...)

Anyway my fear is accidentally stepping on an oil patch and there I go, busting my ass in front of everyone. Oh, and the light turns green while I'm falling so now I'm also THAT GUY holding up traffic. haha.
